My fuel tank install
Finally getting around to changing out my fuel tank. The first problem was it has the wrong filler neck on it. My old tank was easy to get off as it was just soldered on. The new tank on the other hand is brazed on and took a lot of heat to to get the filler neck off. After finally getting the new one off i soldered the old one back on my new tank. Turned out pretty well and does not leak. I soldered the nuts and the threads to make sure they did not leak also. My old tank mount straps were bent and the new ones don't fit right. So i rebent them and put the old ends back on them also. I removed the rivets by grinding off the heads and reinstalled them once i put the pieces back together. Once that was done i tacked the part i ground off back on with my welder. I think everything came out well and just need to paint and install my new parts.
Does anyone know where i can get fuel filler hose 1 3/8 inner diameter for my Blazer? My parts store can only get it in 3' lengths at $70. Don't realy want to spend that much and throw away a third of the hose. The other problem is, they don't know when they can get this part in. Could be 1 month to ?
