tailgate band blazer or truck w/ relocated handle

I was thinking this morning (while in the local coffee drive thru behind a nice k5) if anyone has ever relocated their tailgate handle and then used the blazer tailgate band to replace the original? Since the blazer didn't have the place in the band for the handle, I thought this would be a really clean look if the handle was relocated to the inside of the bed. Put some pics up if you have done this so we (or I) can see how it looks- or if it will even work. Thanks!
