New Member Saying Hello - 1969 K5

My name's Mike Savage, been a long time lurker around this board, but just recently picked up a 69 K5 to build. I'm not new to the old iron (currently have a 69 Chevelle as well), but I am new to K5s. Here's some pics of what I have to start with:

I am wanting to swap out the drums for discs as this thing is borderline dangerous to stop. Is this axle closed or open knuckle? I am getting told this is an open knuckle D44, but the code on the axle says 44 5F(looking at the passenger side).

The bed is mostly rust free, some cancer in the usual spots, but the top is solid (It is crack free, but it is only secured to the windshield frame right because the bolts that tie in through the bed but don't make up to anything in the top ) It has a 350 in it, TH350, and the regular NP205 Tcase. Goal is to use it like a truck and have some fun.

Nice to meet you guys! I would encourage everybody to take a look at the rest of the pics to tell me if I got a solid truck or not: http://rides.webshots.com/album/576977586kmxoSB
