Billet wheel redo???

Back in the early 90's I was big into the mini truck scene and bought a set of Boyd "Posie II" billet wheels.Well the truck is long gone but the wheels have remained. My wife is wanting them on her jeep but they are very dingy, after all they are 20 years old now.So what will be the best way to get them back looking good w/o sending them to a polisher???? I was thinkin possibly a car buffer and some kinda compound/polish.Since I have gotten into the 4wd's real heavy it has been years since I have been worried about polishin wheels so I'm kinda out of the loop.
