Should I or Should I NOT

I have been driveing my truck around for a while now about once or twice a month, The front half of the truck was painted last year and well the bed was not. So as everyone can see my bed is a little darker green I do plan on painting the bed in the future but I do not see it happening any time soon as I am short on funds..So my question is Should I sand down the Bed so when people look at my truck they know it's not completely painted yet Or Should I just leave it the way it is untill I can afford to paint it? Would sanding down the bed make the green a little lighter? Here are some pictures enjoy..
