Guardian Angel

Yesterday when I drove home from work I got about half way (15 miles on the freeway) and my Blazers temp guage starts climbing and gets to about 1/2 the way and its starts making kind of rattling sounds. I started to pull off at next exit, Traffic had backed up and the temp had started to go back down to 1/3. So I decided to wait until I got home to check. Got home and opened the hood this is what I saw. Look close at these pics and see if you see any problems. Yes the lower alternator mounting bracket bolt sheered off. The bracket rotated around the top bolt and came to rest on the top of the exhaust manifold. I have no idea how that belt stayed on. It actually moved over 1 groove on the crank pulley. Well I guess I better get out the drill and easy-out. My guardian angel must have been watching over me. Hopefully he is still watching while i try to take that piece of bolt out.
