68' GMC with DANA 44 and brakes woes!

I have a 68' GMC 2 wheel drive with a factory DANA 44 that I've rebuilt with center carrier, ring and pinion, bearings, etc, etc, etc.

Now I learn that the correct drums for the rear brakes haven't been available for years, because this is a fairly unique set up. I have the truck on the road with Chevrolet drums . . . but they don't fit correctly and its obvious. Seems to work okay . . . but who wants to take chances when it comes to stopping.

I'm looking for some input on options . . . other then swapping complete differentials to resolve this issue.

1. Recommended disc brake kits.
2. Parts swapes from other years/ makes/ models (disc or drum)

Any help?
