'72 power steering pump on '79 K20

My '79 K20 is coming together, but the engine situation is taking some time to work out. I have a 454 on the stand sort of in progress, a 500 Caddy still in the car but may be available, I bought a 383 crank and am looking for good Vortec heads. While this works itself out, I need something to replace the poorly done 350 in the truck right now. I have a good usable 4-bolt 0010 short block and some good early 461 "fuelie" heads that have been ported and have 2.02's etc. I also have a good Crower torque cam, lots of different water pumps and pulleys. I can swap pistons to work out the compression issues, and I know all about hardened valve seats. Because the heads have no accessory holes, I'm going to use an extra low-mount '72 power steering bracket I have. Just by eye-balling it, I'm thinking the stock '79 pump will work with this bracket. If it doesn't, is there any reason the '72 pump wouldn't work OK with the '79 steering gear? I mean from a pressure standpoint or whatever. I have several street rod brackets that should take care of the alternator issue, or I will deal with it with my MIG welder and some scrap steel. Keep in my mind this is a temporary solution and the truck doesn't get a ton of use. Plus, I have a '70 K10 burb project, a 200 year old house, etc. Thanks
