Need a little help with replacing my ball joints

well, im trying to replace my lower ball joints since they need it and im running out of stuff to do while my truck is in the shop lol

i rented the ball joint press that o reilly has, and i could not get it to work on taking them out (seemed too short). so i took a damn hammer to it, couple (actually about 10) smacks later and they broke loose. well im getting ready to press the new ones in, and to me they look a little longer than the old ones.

my truck is a 67, the control arms that are going in are from a 70. i was told the ball joints are the same from 67-70. so when i picked up the new ball joints, and for some reason he said he didnt have in stock the ones for a 67 suburban, but he did for the 68-70 c10. so i just got those anyways, since they should be the same. the part number is k6023. going by the application guide...they should fit. maybe its my eye, or maybe because they are aftermarket...but they look different...heres a pic..

the one in the middle is the new one, the outside 2 are they old ones.

and for future reference...these new ones just press in from the bottom right? it looks like it does but i wasnt sure if the boot was gonna tear or not lol.
