Did I choose the wrong glass guy?

I need to have my windshield installed on the C10.
I called every glass guy in the area and most of them won't
do the job because it has the custom stainless trim.
The one guy that said he could came over and attempted for three hours to get it in and decided that the LMC weather seal
wasn't very good. He said he would get a good one and come back. He then tried (With the "Good" weather seal) for an additional three hours and no go! He got the owner of the glass shop on the phone and the guy told me that he would come over on Saturday to do the job himself. That's where I stand for now.
What kind of experiences have you guys had with installation trouble? Did I just get the wrong glass guy?
