Opinions wanted for brake update on 79 C10

hey gang,

I have a couple of questions for those with more brake expertise than I have. I am planning to update the brakes on my 79. I got the truck a month or so ago from my father-in-law and a lot of the parts are still original. I am not planning to 'upgrade' as much as just update to newer parts so that the system is strong and reliable. My plans at this point are:

FRONT
Replace hoses, calipers, pads
Turn Rotors (replace if necessary)
Pack wheel bearings

REAR
Replace hose
Replace Wheel cylinders, shoes, springs, etc
Turn Drums (replace if necessary)

Flush brake fluid during process.

Am I overlooking anything important?

Are there any particular components that I should seriously consider upgrading rather than replacing?

Is getting braiding lines worth the extra expense? I do plan on towing occasionally.

This is not for show. I just want the brake system to be reliable.

Thanks in Advance.
Steve
