possilbe C35 drop questions
I'm not seriously considering doing this any time soon, I have other things on the truck to address first, but I'd like to get some ideas/suggestions.
My truck is a 79 GMC C35. I eventually wanna drop the thing a little bit, not a ton. I still want a truck that can carry stuff, I don't pull anything or anything heavy like I'd need the 1 ton capacity at all. I was wondering mostly about my rear. I was showing the truck to my buddy's dad who counted 18 leaves in the rear springs per side, including the helper springs, so I think that makes 16 leaves per side without them. The U bolts look big enough that they could be used for a lifted truck with blocks. I was wondering what the best approach would be to get it down. I'm thinking I don't need anywhere near 16 leaves in my springs, so I was thinking remove leaves first, maybe a drop shackle. For the front, possibly coils and/or spindles. I don't mind rake at all, I just want it down a noticable amount, and some actual suspension travel in the rear. I have yet to build my box/bed for the rear, but I don't think that would weigh it down very much with those springs on there. What do you think?
