203 to 205 conversion

I have a 74 K5 with a 203 and locking hub .... not sure if its Part time or full time
OK i found a 70 with a 205 the bearing race appears to be the correct size along with the splined shaft that goes into it on my TH350... the only issue appears to be the istance from the mouning flange of the 70 T case support on the tranny side to the center of the U joint for the rear drive shaft is about 16 inches...the rear flange of my dead TH350 in the truck to the center of the U joint is about 20 inches... does this seem right? or do i need a shorter rear shaft from 73-80 a SM465/205 set up? heres some pics..the white tranny is a working TH350 than needs to go into the 74K5... and some of the donor 205... or should I just say bag it? and o with the 203?
