Measuring Tailshaft?

I measured my Turbo 350 tranny tailshaft to see if it was 9" for my 700r4 swap. I measured from where it bolts to tranny to end of yolk. It is 9" between those two points. Did I measure it correctly? If so, the 700r4 is an easy swap with just moving the crossmember, Correct?
