ls6 PCV conversion

I have an 06 silverado, 5.3, 46k, and has recently developed an oil consumption problem that i have actually read a lot about oline. my truck goes through approx. 1 qt of mobil1 every 1500 miles. no smoking or power loss has been noticed. the more research i do on this it seems to be a pcv problem. Many others with the same problem have fixed it by converting their motor to the ls6 valley cover. it doesn't look like a very difficult upgrade however, was just wondering if anyone on here done this and had good results? i bought my truck before the 5yr. 100k warranty that gm now has so since mine ran out at 36k, Im SOL as far as that goes. thanks in advance
