4x4 Tahoe I want it lowered

I'm looking @ purchasing a 1999 Tahoe 4x4. BUT I do not want to convert it to 2wd. We still see a fair amount of snow in this area, and having the ability to flip on the 4wd would be killer. This is a budget build, so I need to do it inexpensively. I'd like to get a decent drop, throw on some nice wheels/tires, tint, replace the gril and front bumper cover, add a roll pan, and it would look killer I think.

Who has lowered a 4x4 that can comment? What pitfalls am I looking at?

I appreciate any comments or suggestions...
