Swap or not??

Well I have been thinking about putting a rearend out of a 88-98 fs truck for the extra width because it drives me crazy the way the rear end is so much narrower that the front on these trucks. Well I go to my dad's shop today and there is a white stepside sitting out front and I asked what was wrong with it and he said needs an engine and the guy is selling it to a junk yard. I was like I want the rear end call him and find out how much they are giving him. So he did and I am now the proud owner of a 1992 cheyenne with a 5 speed and a v6 with a hole in the oil pan for $250.00!!

So do I pull the v6 out and drop a hot v8 in it or part it and put the money toward my 5.3 or 6.0 (haven't decided yet) swap?
