NP-208 Questions - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Putting the truck together getting everything lined up, I noticed when I bought the truck looking at the shifter it was not the NP-205 I wanted thought it was a 203. Crawling around under this weekend did some research and figured out it is actually a NP-208.
Did a search on here and didn't really find any info doing some google searches and getting a little more info.

It has a 2:61 low range and is chain driven. Anybody have any more info, pro's or con's on this t-case.

This rig will not be put through anything that is pure hell so I am not going to worry about replacing it but would like to know more about it just for general knowlege as there aren't many discussions on it.
