A/F Wideband Oxygen Sensor Location

Guys,

I am installing an Autometer Wideband A/F gauge on my truck for tuning purposes and per what I have read it appears that the bosch o2 sensor typically goes in the collector of the headers. I don't want to have to remove the headers, drill, weld, reinstall them for this and am wondering since the collector flange has enough room for the sensor bung, is replaceable, doesn't 'destroy' my headers, etc etc...Is there any reason why someone thinks this would or wouldn't be a smart move? It is only 4" behind where it would go typically, and I don't have to remove anything but a couple clamps to pull out the flange and weld the bung onto it...Thoughts?
