first post on here, what do yall think

first i want to say reading the forums i can see most of you guys are funny as heck, good sense of humor all around. My question is, and ive searched a lot, im gonna cut down my long bed frame and turn it into a swb, but everyone wants to take the 12 inches out of the frame under the cab.(72 super cheyenne) Well im not ready to do a frame off resto right now, i dont want to pull the cab for access. I plan on cutting 12 inches out behind the cab. I realize i'll have to move trailing arm crossmember, but other than that what is the problem with this?
