Everyone who welds has been in your shoes at one point or another.. IO started out with a 225 stick welder.. then went onto a 2nd hand flux welder probably similar to yours.. Just practice on any scrap metal you got.. over the years I built myself what I called a "Weld City" a huge pile of scrap all welded into a massive display in the corner of my shop..

Another good investment if you do plan on getting serious about welding is picking up a nice mask.. I personally love my Accu-Strike and they are very affordable and double as a grinding helmet with the ability to use both hands. http://www.accustrike.com/ Auto darkening lids are pretty popular as well.. but don't cheap out.. especially when it comes to your eyes
