Drum brake part question

I am redoing the drum brakes on my truck and one of the springs broke. It's a large oval spring that sits on the strut (the part that equalizes the shoes when you apply the e-brake, it's the one labeled "spring" on the middle right of the below image). I have looked at the spring kit that replaces the e-brake springs and it isn't included. I bought the spring pack that replaces the springs used for normal braking operations and it isn't included in that pack. Can I get away with not having that spring? If not any ideas where I can find it?
