gas gauge at e when half full

I got a new sending unit, it works great, but shows empty when still 1/2 full.

At E it will only need 10 gal to fill. The tank should hold 19 gal? On my 63, stock tank.

Ideas? Not sure if I can bend the arm on the sending unit? Or just live with it till I go under bed tank.

o- got the wheels and new tires on a couple of weeks ago, MUCH better, will post photos soon. Ralleys painted black, and 255/70R-15 Continental CrossContact tires. I need trim rings and a chance to add the 'special' paint
