New guy here learning
Hey guys,
Thought I'd say Hi and give y'all an idea of what I'm here for. I am working on my '67 LWB Stepside, 250 L6, 4spd trans... bought it when I was 15 with big plans, then reality set in, 8yrs have gone by now and I am getting back into it with a little better budget. I've been lurking around here for a week or so reading and getting ideas, man there is a ton of info here (and pictures, I love pictures, haha)! Currently I have the frame cleaned up and painted, now I got the cab media blasted and working on ordering panels from SoKy Classics. I will be installing all the rust repair panels myself, then with help from my dad I'll be doing the paint prep and might try my hand at painting it myself too... Starting to look at the stance and suspension parts. Here's an idea of what I am going to have when I am done... '67 SWB Stepside 2wd (shortening LWB frame, SWB frames are scarce around here in the rust belt) 5.3L/4L60E engine/trans with DT headers 2.5/4 Drop (front spindle drop and rear drop coils) 5 Lug conversion front and rear Disc brake conversion on the front Rebuild the rear drums Thinking 17" Torq Thrust rims (or similar) with some decent meats (not into the low-pro tires) Rear mount 99-02 Camaro fuel tank, stake pocket filler 00+ Silverado bucket seats with flip down console Still not sure about color, I went through the 131 pages of pictures in one of the threads and there are some great looking rides, thinking the dark blue or 'Copperhead' color would really look great... I am a firm believer in supporting Site Sponsors, looks like you guys have some great ones, I just need to get caught up in the abbreviations, CPP/ECE/etc... Welp, my mind is fried once again, just spent the last 5hrs learning about drops/AC/rims/lug swaps... I'll be back tomorrow night Last edited by DustyC10; 06-14-2010 at 11:19 PM. |
