Side marker light fill question.

I've been trying to figure out how to put a side maker light fuel fill on my truck for a while now. Right now I'm thinking I have the wrong black plastic bucket. Could someone verify this or tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I need?

If you look here, none of the holes in the bucket line up so I can bolt them to the bedside. I know I need to weld a small fill plate in the front and rear of the marker light opening, but I still wouldn't be able to attach the bucket to it.

Any help will be appreciated.
