My 1968 GMC 1500 327ci 2wd

I got this truck from my father in law it was purchased by his dad in 72 and his brther had it since 84. It seems like solid truck other than the typical rust in the lower cab. My plan is to make a rod out of it. It has power steering that is disconnected and a tired front suspension. It has leaf sprung rear end so i assume it is more exspensive to lower than coils. He also has a 72 CST that is for sale but i can take what parts i want but not to sure what i should other than the factory tach. It is a 3/4 ton so if anybody has any ideas of what would be a good part to take and use in my 68 let me know. I will keep updates as i slowly rebuild this truck.
