Tire question from a semi newb

first of all let me say thanks to all the great ideas that I have gathered so far. Now to the good stuff...I have a '73 blazer that I bought in March. It has a 3 in. body lift that I am taking out. I want to go for the 'Rat Rod' look.
My question is, that since I can't really lower it due to being 4 wheel drive (haven't been able to find out how to do so...yet), what size tire should I stuff under the fender to make the gap as small as possible. I tried searching and found nothing. Maybe I just didn't use the right words, so forgive me if its out there. Thanks again to everyone here!
