Gas Pedal "geometry" help
I might have messed myself up - I need a little help. My truck came with a factory Holley 4 barrel that was pretty cantankerous, so I swapped it for a Qua----- (I know, I know). Anyway, when I did my floor work, I did away with the studs for the floor mounted gas pedal & welded an end on so I could use a "floating" (not mounted to the floor) pedal.
Anyway, all was well until I figured out that the pedal did not have enough travel to open the secondaries all the way. Once I adjusted things so they opened up, the pedal is way too high inside. I think the problem is not my messing with the pedal as much as it is that the carb has a longer "throw" from idle to wide open than the original. Any thoughts to help? Thanks |
