Re: Project: 69 C10 "Junk Yard Dog"

Ok, so I thought I would get my arm rests mounted, but ran into a snag. The holes in the door panel aren't in the right spot.

The panels are metal, which I thought meant 71 and older. The arm rests I have were listed as 68-71.

Looking at things now, I think the holes in my panel were probably for some aftermarket pull strap. The holes in there now are farther apart than my armrests are wide, and they are about 2 inches higher on the panel than the top of the door handle.

From looking at the catalogs, I think the armrest is supposed to share a centerline with the door and window cranks. Just not sure on the fore and aft positioning.

Can someone measure distance from the back of the door panel to the first hole, and from the door handle back to the second hole?
