Looking for some tips, could use the help.

Hey guys, new here, an lookin for some tips.

My Dad got me a 77 GMC half ton for my first truck Pretty sweet, I'm real excited about gettin this thing cleaned up and lookin/running good. It runs decent right now, but I'd like it to look good to. Don't we all want our trucks lookin good inside an out?!

The whole engine block, engine bay, header tubes/manifold area really needs a cleaning. It's all oily looking, and grimy, Removing the engine is not an option, and I know that's be the easiest thing to do but simply not an option. What parts/areas need to be covered up or avoided when washing under the hood? And what would a good cleaner be?

Thanks for the help guys!
