Post Need your input on transmission selection....

The guy that bought my 69 C-10 just had a 355 engine built with a 270 comp cam........flat tops......dual plane intake........300HP heads etc...........the rear end is the 9 inch Ford I put in, with 3.70 gears and a traction loc unit.........rear tires are 29x15.5/15 Hoosier Pro Street radials................I told him to put either a 700R4 or a 350TH with a 1,800 to 2,000 stall in it............he told me today, that several people have told him to get a powerglide and a 3,000 stall................Any ideas on the reasoning behind this? Are glides all that great for street driving? Just need some ideas...........Thanks, Brad
