Dual compressor delay circuit
The other dual compressor thread got me wondering if I could setup my compressors so one would kick on a second or two after the first one to minimize the intial amp draw (similar to how some of the digital systems do).
I found this product http://www.ics-timers.com/khtimers1.html I'll be ordering the KH128 (on delay timer, .5-5 sec delay, 12 vdc). Wiring one of these between the pressure switch and the relay on the second compressor (you will have to have 2 relays) should make the second compressor kick on a few seconds later. My plan would is to stash this and the relays in a project box for a clean install. Trouble is this company only sells minimum orders of $75. The part is only $16 so I need at least 4 others who would be willing to give this a shot. I'm not trying to make any $ on this, just trying to not have to buy a bunch of things I only need one of. Anyone else wanna give this a shot? I'd buy them up front and send you one for the $16 plus shipping. Keep in mind I have not done this so you would be testing just like me. For that matter anyone know of a similar product that I can buy one of? Anyone done somthing like this?
