GMC 67/68 owner question - grill molding top - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am trying to figure out if the upper grill molding is required for a 67 or 68 GMC. The LMC catalog only shows it for 68-72 GMC grills page 66. But my assembly manual shows it being attached with rivits to a grill with the "GMC" in the center which would be a 67. And if its required for a 67 would it be painted the body color? Its shows in the LMC as chrome so I am really confused. Any help would be apprecated!
