Hello from England

Hi, I've been reading this forum for a couple of years; now my truck's finally on the road, I decided to introduce myself. My Name's Pete. I bought this truck in Fremont, CA, in 2008. I used it with a few others to load engines into to export to England in a 40ft Container. I sold the other trucks, but like this one, so decided to keep it. It'd had the engine rebuilt & uprated, but had a faulty transmission. It's a '72 Big Block 402 Longbed. Since I've had it, it's had a new uprated TH400, new converter, new floors, inner & outer rocker panels, tires, battery, another bench seat, new seat belts, Edelbrock carb, Magnaflow Exhaust system.
I plan to repaint it, put a new interior in it, and I am building a 454 to drop in.
Everyone I know says I should leave it alone. What do you all think??
