North American Tool Co.?

Anyone know what happened to this company? Tried to search for it on the web and no luck.

Bought an older engine hoist off of CL a couple of months ago for $50 that was rough but still workable. Finally got around to messing with it today in a minor restoration.

Actually it is built fairly well, basic standard design, but rolls easy on heavy steel wheels, no bends in the steel frame and the welds look good. Basically it just needed some simple cleaning up (wire wheeled all the frame for paint and inspection) and attention to lubrication of the castors, (one bolt did have to be drilled as it was broken off). Turning out fairly decent and will be like new when I'm done including new grade 8 bolts, but there is only 5. It gets a new cylinder too as the old one leaked. Should last me forever for around here.

So I thought I'd check to see what it cost new but North America Tool Co. seems to have disappeared. Another victim of Harbor Freight or merged to another tool company? Just curious. North American tool company close down?

At least it appears it was made in the USA!
