New Stereo & NO cut dash GREAT Option

I don't know if anyone ever did this. I like OEM stuff and I have an AM/FM radio with factory speaker in my Blazer. Even though it sounds ok with the top on, without the top, I can't hear it very well. I don't like aftermarket radios under the dash or even cutting my dash, so I started thinking What can I use to play my 1,000+ songs on my iPhone and still listen to local stations or even XM radio? I got a Sony radio from BestBuy and installed it in the glovebox and hoped the remote would work, no luck. Good old US Steel, the remote would not work with the glovebox door closed, ugh! Took it back to BB, their price was too high and they would not match the price off the internet, rudely said no, so I took it back. I started thinking what can I use as a remote, did some searching, and found a Sony Marine radio with a wireless remote and wired remote, hmmm not bad. Found it at Amazon, good price and in 3 days I had it.

Now where can I mount the wired remote? I had mixed feelings cutting my center console but board member, 6t727t2, makes SS center console plates. I recommend him/them, high quality steel and looks good, thank you 6t. I did not want to cut my original SS plate so I cut his and installed the remote in place of the center ash tray in the console. If I ever change my mind I can re-install my plate and ash tray back to original. Check out the pics, I mounted the 6x9 speakers in the middle and the radio sounds great and I even have my iPhone tunes now. I can even add XM radio at a later time if I want. Just another option for anyone. I can now change my stations and the radio is locked in my glovebox and the remote is bolted in the center console BTW I also added a cup holder.
