Weird 4x4 open diff/posi diff question? Please read - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So I guess my assumptions may be wrong sometimes. My dad (who had a 68 1/2ton 4x4 back in the day) was telling me that all 4x4s have posi-traction in both the front and rear. The frame i'm using is a 68 GMC 4x4 1/2 and I thought I was told it's an open rear end. Can you guys please tell me what's what? Explain it like I'm 12 years old so I can clearly show it to my dad, whether he's right or wrong.
