TH700R4 Wiring Question

I'm in the process of changing my TH350 to a TH700R4 transmission in my 72. I got the transmission out of a 92 2wd Suburban. I purchased a TCI Torque Converter Lockup Wiring Kit, p/n 37660, and have it installed in my transmission. I was told that this kit would not work in my truck and I should purchase a kit from GM Performance Parts, p/n 24502513, which eliminates the the wiring harness and only changes the TV spring in the valve body. Anybody have any expierence with either of these kits? I'm ready to put the transmission in this weekend but I'm going to hold off if the kit I bought isn't going to work.
