Dead Fuel Gauge

I bought a tach dash off a guy on ebay and after I installed it, I have a dead fuel gauge.

I'm not sure if it's the gauge itself, the circuit board or a fuse.

The original gauge worked though it showed way over full when I filled up and was empty at 1/8 of a tank.

I'm not sure what kind of problem I'm looking at . . . .

Suggestions?

Can I check the gauge to see if it's working somehow?

Thanks
