My burb shakes

Ive got a 91 4x4 with a lift of at least 4 inches and im having trouble finding what makes it shake. It happens randomly at speeds of 25-60 ill be driving an the next thing i know the entire front end shakes uncontrollably an then when i hit the brakes it stops, now i dont know if its the front axle or even the suspension but it started happening like 2 weeks ago an im pissed off because i dont know what it is. Somebody told me it might be the drive shaft but the front drive shaft is not on the truck. So if anybody knows what it could be or have suggestions on what it is im all ears
