69 is going back together
Just finished painting my 69 last night. Spent a couple hours tonight putting it back together. After 3 years, it is fun to see it becoming a real truck again. Here is a quick overview:
4/6 drop, 17x8 steel craigar wheels 275 60 in the rear and 235 60 in the front Front disc brake conversion Front sway bar, new bushing all around, and new body mounts New u-joints and carrier bearing Poly blazer tank out back Completely rebuilt 307 (original motor) with 3 spd manual Motor has edelbrock cam, intake, and carb. and Summit roller rockers. New fuel pump, headman full length headers, and electric fan conversion Electronic ignition in stock distributor Dual exhaust with H pipe and exiting in front of the tires The paint is Summit Racing single stage Ultra Blue Pearl with clear coat on top New red oak and stainless bed strips in the back I have done all the work myself (with help from my 16 year old daughter) and it has been a real learning experience. This has been my first attempt at body work and painting (hence the night pictures ). I am looking forward to getting it on the road and having some fun driving it (when I can get the keys away from my daughter!) Still some work to do, but I have all the parts I need and it should be road worthy in a couple of weeks. More pictures to come! (I may even get brave and take some in the daylight). |
