front clip color -- 68

I have a question about the original color of the front clip on a 68. From what I understand from other threads, the two tone package in 67 and 68 involved the cab roof being white. (The 50 Anniversaries may be an exception, with white also below the trim.) The 67 two-tones had the main color on the A-pillars and the 68 two-tones had white A-pillars, I understand.

But my question is for a 68, what controlled the color of the front clip? If the truck was a two-tone with a white roof, did that automatically make the front clip white? Was there ever a white front clip without the white roof? In other words, was the color of the front clip governed by the truck being designated a two-tone, or by something else?

Thanks for any help.
