Wiring cleanup/safety idea

What do you guys think about this? Maybe it's nothing new but....

I'm thinking of connecting the alternator wire to the starter battery post so so I can clean up that wire instead of running it to the distribution block on the fender. The way it is now leaves the entire electrical system open to the alternator since the fusible link is between the block and the battery, not the fuse box. The fusible link connects from the BAT positive post to the junction block and the 10 ga goes out the the fuse box and other accessories.

Seems cleaner. Any thoughts?
