Do i need..............

Do i need to use a puller to get my steering wheel off my 63C10 swb stepside, i removed horn assembly and there is on nut to take off should it just pull off, do i need a puller, is there a secret to taking it off m not awhare of? another i have play in my steering wheel, like 3 inches left in right, would that be the upper bearing or......???? links,threads,how 2's, exeprience .....i dont wanna break anything
