Posi Spring question ? pls help.

Hey all, a buddy at work just told me about his budge posi for a 94 pickup he used to have. According to him the late 80's early 90's Camaro's that did not come with a posi unit, came with a spring to keep tension on the spider gears.

I had never heard of it. He found the GM part number 231260 - about 16.00

Said he stuck one in his pick up with a open diff. Not as effective as a actual posi for high perf stuff. But for a cheap/fun upgrade on my 68, sounds like the ticket.

Just wondering if any of you have tried this trick, or have any more info. I ordered the spring from the dealer I work for. Will post updates.
