? ?? on moving front suspension

I've got a problem that my front wheels are not centered in the wheel well opening. It was a miscalculation on my part so before I go to the bother of hacking up my fenders I was wondering if moving the front cross member back an 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" would be a big under taking and would it cause any problems. I realize that the steering box and the works would have to be moved as well. What would you say my best options would be? So you know this is a F100 on a 72 c10
