Yes I converted tie rods.
I cheaped out and used a set of new swap meet McGaughy's 71-72 spindles on my '69.
If I had it to do over,... I would have bought 65-70 conversion spindles.

I had to use 71-72 outer tie rods to fit my spindles and 65-70 inners to fit the center link.
They are too different thread sizes. 71-72 are 11/16".
The 65-70's are 5/8",... and the wrong thread direction.
So I had to put 65-70 outers in the inner location.

To answer your question,... the tie rod sleeves are call "conversion" sleeves from POL (www.performanceonline.com) $49.99.

They also make standard sleeves for connecting the same size tie rods.
Edelbrock and CPP actually make a lot better looking sleeves.
