Just stick with the basics and dont overthink what you have going on.
Did it run just fine before you put gas in it? Did you mess with the distributor at all since it died? Moving it around? Sounds like you got on it and that connector pulled loose and was making intermittant contact. If all you did was change your fuel pump and keep cranking on it, just throw some new plugs in it and dont mess with the timing at all. Oh yeah and you may want to check our motor/tranny mounts. Your motor shouldnt be moving around enough to pull that connector loose.
