Classic Parts LED tail lights

I recieved a pair of LED tail lights as a x-mas gift. they are from Classic Parts.

I thought i remember reading that you needed a special flasher (or something) for using LED's in tail lights or parking lights. The catalog and the instructions make no mention of using or needing anything extra in the wiring to make them work properly. Can anyone enlighten me?
