Steering Column Help

I have a 1969 CST/10 automatic and I replaced the turnsignal lever and the shifter lever with new ones. When I took it apart the bearing and the race fell out.I put it back together and I cannot get the tunsignal part of the column to lock back into place.Any advice would be appreciated.
